Graphic courtesy of: Richard Carvell 12th Reconnaissance Intelligence Technical Squadron (Photo Lab OIC) June 1970 - June 1971 South Vietnam’s rainy season is during the months of May through September. I arrived 1 June 1970 in the second month of the rainy season, and I was going to leave at the end of the first month of the southern monsoon. There's a chance of rain at any time of the year in what was then South Vietnam, but on the whole, it tends to rain for an hour or two towards the end of the afternoon during the rainy season, so you really could not let it put you off if you had to go somewhere. Walking in the rain just became something one did. | |
