The funeral service for William "Del" Roan, 71, will be Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jack Redfearn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Roan died on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

He was born March 8, 1943, in Morgan County to Ralph and Helen Betterton Roan.

Mr.Roan proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years; during those years he did two tours in Vietnam.

He worked for TVA for 39 years where he became head electrician.

Mr. Roan was very helpful and very kind to those he loved and to total strangers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Wendall Roan.

Survivors include:

Best friend of 41 years, Grace Roan, Hartselle

One son,Mark Alan Roan (Melissa), of Sebring, Florida

One stepson,Brant Garner, Hartselle

Brother, Harlon Roan, Decatur

Four grandchildren,Haley Roan, Morgan Roan,Carter Roan, and Logan Garner

Five nieces and nephews, Cindy Martin, Joey Roan, Del Lynn Roan, Josh Roan, and Katrina Roan.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
