Colonel Kenneth P. Winchester Norfolk, Va Col. Kenneth Paul Winchester, USA (Ret.) 81 of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on June 30, 2014.

Born in Pickens County, South Carolina on September 23, 1932, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Selma K. Winchester and husband to the late Mary Dean Edens Winchester.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Riley.

Colonel Winchester graduated from Clemson University and George Washington University.

A veteran of Korea and Vietnam, he was retired from the Signal Corps of the US Army.

Among other posts, He was stationed in Hawaii and Italy and was the Base Commander at Prum, Germany.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norfolk and the Tan Son Nhut Association.

He loved travel, radio, other forms of communication and photography.

He was a great and caring husband, father and grandfather.

Left to cherish Kenneth’s memory are his sons, Neil Winchester and wife Dawn Winchester, Keith Winchester and wife Diane Winchester, and Timothy Winchester; grandchildren, Tyler, Colin, Michael and Erin Winchester and Jamie Satterfield.

Visitation will be Saturday July 12, 2014 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Dillard Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will follow at 11:00am in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
